Supersize Me- A Surprising Film Documentary Confirming What We Already Know

YouTube Movies and Shows

This movie surprised me when I first saw it years ago. Supersize Me is the story of a man on a journey and a quest to save us from ourselves. From the scourge and pestilence of fast fucking food.

Morgan Spurlock embarks on a quest to see just how bad fast food is for you. He takes on the challenge of eating fast food for a month, and selecting the "supersize" option whenever possible. Watch this man wreck his body for science and our amusement.

I am a big fan of eating right, and grow much of my own food. Fast food is nasty, and it's devestating to the body. After 30-days eating fast food full of salt and HFCS, poor Spurlock is in bad shape.

Watch this illuminating film for free. I am glad to see YouTube releasing movies that make you think and consider the harm and deleterious nature of fast food.

Bon appetit!

I'm normally pretty fit, but gained weight this Winter as a result of moving to a small Northern town where it's too cold and snowy to go outside for 4 months. I was also stress eating to lift my mood, as we were pretty depressed, and being harassed and messed with by my wife's parents. Not to mention, I recently developed heart failure, which restricts my ability to exercise and slows my metabolism. Suddenly, I went from 168lb to 188lb. When Spring came, I started my daily routine of digging up the lawn for a garden (which I've documented here on Blurt), and taking my kids for a long walk in the stroller almost every day. I cut my portion sizes, but at the same time also started picking up some McDonald's fries a few times a week, replacing some other lunch I would have eaten. And yes, I always get the biggest size they'll sell me! Thankfully, I'm back to 170lb now here in mid Summer. Hoping to reach 165lb (with more muscle than I had before) by Autumn, so when we're locked into the house for weeks on end, I'll just have to watch my eating to stay reasonably healthy lean. I guess I'll be mostly off the McFries again by that point :P
I remember seeing this film when it came out. Wasn't bad, fairly entertaining, not completely scientific but it made a point.

I feel you on the stress eating. A great family friend has heart failure, and died twice after encephalopathy. Keep strong @drutter. I fast and keep fit at the gym after neglecting my body for years on end.

That's good, at least you turned things around in time. Keep on it!
I am 47 and falling apart for no known reason, it sucks. I hope to find some answers.
The heart failure started last year, and my weight gain/loss was all this year, so that can't be what caused it. I'm finally seeing a cardiologist and they seem keen to help me sort some things out. I've been let down by the deathcare system so many times, and I was a nurse for 10 years so I know how it works, so I don't go to doctors unless I have to. And for this, I do need their help accessing scans and prescriptions. In an ideal world it wouldn't be like that, and I could just buy what I needed on the free market, but that's not the case! So I am trying to trust.

I stay far away from doctors. They test my blood and tell me I'm in trouble. Well, I say as long as I'm upright and conscious with minimal pain, it's ok by me. So many medications hurt the body and I've seen the I'll effects the medical profession brings. Seriously, praying for you. Stay strong my friend, and I know many who are suffering as you are. Eat well and exercise.
