So, what about it? Do you guys celebrate fiestas or festivals in your place as well? Filipinos are known to have always enjoyed celebrating different fiestas and festivals. It's one of our ways to express gratitude to our patron saints whom we believe is God's helper to send us all the bountiful and blessed days of our lives. And with this, i wanted to share one of the activities of my hometown, which is the Municipality of Baco, in celebration of the upcoming Fiesta for our Patron Saint Joseph, that will be officially March 19.

There you go! One of the booths set up for people to see and buy as well, this booth is special, because these products you see were made by our native locals, we call them Mangyans. They usually live in mountains, but for todays generation, they are also normally living like us.

Weaving baskets has always been a traditional craft for the Mangyans, Oriental Mindoro. They have so much talents in art i would say, they also love to make necklaces, bracelets anklets which are made out of beeds.
This nito baskets are made of raw materials like nito grass and thick, then the dried forest vines are laced in a circular motion that results to an intricate pattern which is distinct to the tribe.

There are different items you can choose from like pack bags and handy bags , kitchen tools organizer or even your personal items, plates, laundry basket, flower baskets, and water bottle holders. This booth opening has been done last 3rd of March and it's also part of the celebration of 100 years or Centennial Founding anniversary of our town.
