Today I got a call from a man who claimed to be calling from the #bank where I have an account. He started with greeting me and then asked me if I had completed my #video #kyc or not.
I was surprised as I already had my #kyc done at the time of opening #bank account and that was a physical #kyc done by me so there was no point of this new #kyc he was talking about.
In less than a minute I got to know he was a #scammer trying to #scam me so I continued talking to him. He told me that the #bank sent me an #email as well as text message last month.
I immediately opened up my #mail and told him that there was no mail like that or even a text message from the #bank. He then said I might have deleted it, how foolish was that to believe.
He then sent me a #apk on my whatsapp and asked me to install it and complete the #kyc. I refused as it was not a official #bank #app and it was also not on the play store.
This was the #time he started threatening me but I knew he was a #scammer so I did not panic. He told me that if I cut the call my #bank will be freezed and that was where I ended the conversation.
I asked him to #freeze my account and then I cut the call. Nothing happened so far and nothing will happen in future as well. Beware of #scammers as they only intend on stealing money from you.
Never #install a unknown #app sent to you on #whatsapp and talk bravely to anyone who do this to you. Reach out to your #branch as soon as possible if you have given important details to someone.
