📷 The most beautiful Cathedral of the Archangel Michael in Sochi

Have a nice day! Today we will go to the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, which was built in 1890 and became one of the main temples of the entire Black Sea coast.

The territory adjacent to the temple is very picturesque, there are palm trees, cypresses, agaves everywhere. And this snow-white structure of the Holy Water Chapel is surrounded by 8 angels. Under its arches there are also mosaic icons: the faces of John the Baptist, St. Andrew the First-Called, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and other saints.

The temple itself is located on an elevation, and this is not accidental. During its construction, the highest bank near the Turkish Ravine in Sochi was chosen. The locals really wanted the golden domes of the temple to be visible even from the Black Sea.

On the territory of the temple, there is also such a bust of Nicholas II, since it was the Romanovs who owned many estates here at that time.

The construction of this beautiful temple complex was sponsored by the most famous philanthropist of that time, Savva Mamontov, and also Count Felix Sumarokov-Elston (Prince Yusupov).

Today, not only local residents come here, but also numerous vacationers, tourists interested in the heritage of past centuries. The height of the tallest building reaches 34 meters, and, indeed, this cathedral can be seen from different points of the city and the sea.

Today, there is also a Sunday school in the temple complex, where classes are held, all kinds of skills are taught, church singing and much more.
