If you've been following our Landie tales on any of my socials, you'll know we bought a banged up old 2001 Defender 130 during 2021 lockdowns. We bought it sight unseen, so it really wasn't up to the hubs standard at all, necessitating another full nut and bolt restoration (he'd already done that with Buttercup, our Series 3, pictured below in watercolour).
On Tuesday, we finally got it registered after getting it roadworthy the week before.
And my birthday gift to Jamie was an original watercolour of Buttercup. The artist didn't put the right postcode so it didn't arrive on time and is still enroute after talking to Australia Post. I mean, if you were sending your art to the other side of the world, you'd double check, right?
He also got a Landrover mug and some very Jamie things - cards with tractors and steam engines and birds, lol.
And we have made HUGE decisions with what we are doing with the camper set up .. it'll bea unique that's for sure! We picked up a special tub secondhand that is actually a 130 tub, which only six were custom made. So the back doors will come off and we will turn it into a station a station wagon poptop. So exciting! If you are a Landrover fan and want to know more about the tub, ask away in the comments!
With Love,
Wow you got the 130 registered well done and it's looking awesome 👍. The water colour looks fantastic to.
Thanks mate!! I know you know the journey and what a big deal it is!!! And I even drove it yesterday.. omg it's so easy next to the S3 and Jamie's done an amazing job, drives like a dream.
