Today a few minutes ago I was seeing 68$ Gucci foundation review by Jeffree Star and I was kinda shocked. Well, actually not shocked, I was speechless thinking am I the only one who is thinking that who will pay 68$ just for a foundation or I am poor who can't afford 68$ foundation.
Okay, I love makeup and makeup products and I have an idea of all types of brands and products from drug stores to high end. I know the consumers of high-end products too but people like me just watch the reviews and release a long breathe that's all. Sigh because I have to work a lot to gather 68$ in a month where some make millions per hour.
I know there are many people around the world who work hard every day for 68$ and this 68$ means a lot to them... Anyway, this is how the world works, the rich get rich and the poor stay poor. Don't feel offended or don't feel bad, I am trying to understand the exact scenario.
My dad used to say, money doesn't fly or money doesn't grow on the trees and I used to think why he says that all the time. Now, I can understand why he used to say that, the individual who understands the reality of life, understand the value of money...
I know many will happily pay 68$ for Gucci foundation because they can afford that just like we are happy with drugstore products. I often think of what can be the difference between 6$ worth of water and 20$ worth of water. In the end, you are getting water but some are paying 6$ and some paying 20$. If I buy a 1-litre bottle of water from a store it costs me around 1-2$ but if I go to a restaurant 1/2 litre bottle of water costs me around 6$, same brand same water but it's a fine dining restaurant. Maybe brand and restaurant matters.
I rarely find honest reviews on youtube when it comes to talking about makeup products so I don't believe any of these products until I do my own research. I must say these brands do nice paid promotion of course but I don't know about Jeffree.
Today I was checking a blogger's blog where she was saying how she feels when she sees how people believe in paid promotion and ready to pay $$$. She also mentioned that there is no value for honest opinions, people like hype, trends, and promotion and without doing any research, they just spend thousands of $$.
After all branding, marketing matter...

Exactly, this was Gucci Perfume which he was reviewing where Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is 34$, huge difference, and drug store ones are only from 10-15$ :P All works fine :P
There is always a market for luxury goods that people will buy, regardless of the price. There are times where quality matters, and good quality often comes with a higher price, but there are also times where a high price is due solely to the brand name. You're definitely right that people need to do more of their own research.
Ya quality matters but some brand products are too expensive because of the high ends like Mark Jacob and Gucci. There are many drug store products which are really good quality and finishing is almost same. People just need to check before buying... :D
Thinking about what you say about the price difference in the bottles of water if you buy it in a store or in a restaurant, well, it is true that in restaurant premises they charge you for the service or for the "atmosphere", so It is always more expensive to buy a simple consumable product there.
