When folks get more money prices go up.
For example, it's quite common if there is a military pay increase, many businesses surrounding the bases raise their prices to get their share.
You see this dynamic also plays out in education and medicine. With the government (and insurance) involved the inflation on these costs has accelerated so much faster than the economic inflation.
Until one solves not holding the so called "authorities" to blame for this, there can at most be a basic income that quickly loses its ability to meet basic necessities.
The rich people who would pay for this and own the politicians will only agree if it somehow makes them more powerful at our expense.
