I just noticed your Blurt "tip" - thank you ever so much!

But with 100k BP, your votes are almost the same as mine - I just let rip! The rewards on Blurt are linear, so 2 votes at 50% is the same as one at 100%. I think the "vote-fear" comes from steem/hive's unrewarding curve.

My concerns were in regards to the drop in value per vote. Based on a rough estimation, at the power I'm at currently my vote value seems to erode approximately .39 for the first 100% upvote, then another .35 for the second etc. Which means that by the time I would reach 82% voting power if I award a 100% upvote at that time the person being voted for will only see a vote for 13.541 instead of the 16.691 I initially could give.

Which gets further exasperated when I (like the other day) draw it down to 60%, which put it close to the 10.00 area.

I am finding it to easy to vote so much that I run through the 10 votes and still see so many things I wish to upvote. So thinking here that if I primarily shift to a 50% voting that would potentially double my votes without eroding the value so badly. I will confess the other day when I stopped at 60% I still saw things to upvote. If I continue this behavior it will compound on itself till I have almost no voting power at all, lol.

I have noticed one difference on voting, and that is the elimination of stake vote theft dependent on when you vote. It allows for there to be curation many days later without fear of handing most of your vote to those in front of you who voted.

I was often hit with this as I always manually curate and those I followed often would post many hours to almost a day before I could vote. Many of their voters autovoting in the first 4 to 5 minutes to grab value from the aftervotes like mine.

Its refreshing to see votes here placed sometimes days after the post was made.

:)

But does it matter? The cumulative votes increase :-)
Unlike steem/hive, vote value does not erode down the unrewarding curve - hence 2 x 50% = 100% , something that is not true on the other chains.

You are the perfect candidate to become a Blurt Foundation Curator here ... if there is a certain subject you would love to curate you should send a comment (or Discord message) to @zahidsun or @angelica7 with your area of interest and they could set up a Special Curation account with 500,000 Blurt Delegation where you can give upvotes with a specific #hashtag ....

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Unfortunately I don't do Discord to meet the requirements, and not sure I would have the time to do justice to a separate curation account either. I figured that my 100K (soon enough) would be my curation account. If I don't post much it will free up voting on comments that I can shift elsewhere. And if I don't award more than 50% VP I can effectively have 20 votes to curate with per day instead of the 10.

That’s the best Strategy !

Thank you for always being attentive, you are an important piece for blurt.
Good vibes.

I tend to write long winded pieces

I would not have noticed ;-)

Good luck for swimming with the Orcas - be welcome.

I would not have noticed ;-)

Buahahaha.

Thanks for the kind words. Also, please don't upvote this comment. You have been quite generous with votes to me, for which I'm grateful. You gave me several yesterday and I know others will appreciate your generosity and interest too. :)

please don't upvote this comment

No one has written this to me yet, but I understand your thoughts behind it. And yes, I'm more of an emotional voter and a comment shows, that someone has taken time for me. That's why I usually vote for comments, as a sign of "I read it" and also as appreciation.

Now I've been on the blockchain for over two years, sometimes I still have to think about how high or if I should vote at all. Somehow I want to give votes back, on the other hand, a vote is a gift and obligates to nothing. I'm still learning and just trying to do well.

Thanks for "Buahahaha", it made me smile ;-)

I'm much the same way. I too struggle with wanting to upvote all interactions, especially when the other is engaging. For many in this system it's all about maximizing everything, and I feel they miss one of the major catalysts this system offers. The best part (to myself) is being able to share my slice of abundance with others. Being rewarded for it is mind blowing. It shocks me at times when I watch others who are very selfish with their votes, only using them for maximum growth. It's their right, but I feel they miss a lot of beauty here, and probably in their personal lives elsewhere.

I've seen you too have a generous nature, and a powerful stake to do many great things here. I am very appreciative of your generosity, both in your sharing your claim to the pool with me through your votes, but in other ways you conduct yourself here. Especially in your sharing with me through comments.

Now that I see Orca in sight, I'm moving to a different approach. One that focuses more on sharing my stake claims and less on collecting more. Not that I wont appreciate when my interactions get upvoted lol.

I think (for myself) focusing on sharing now instead of collecting will offer a new way of rewarding myself. I know Blurt isn't valued very much right now. But i do believe out of the current systems of social blockchain this approach is the one that offers the best long term quality. So I'm going to feel my holdings are a caterpillar that is waiting to turn into the butterfly it is.

That I have an abundance already here waiting, and with drops coming will only continue to give me abundance.

This view will allow me to focus on the sharing my abundance solely.

No one has written this to me yet

I dream of a time where this is the mindset of many. What a beautiful manifestation if the focus for many moves from receiving to giving, to being mindful that abundance demands one share and not consume as much of anothers vote as they can.

It would be a great contribution if you thought of any project that you would like to carry out, you can write to the discord, not publish it before we discuss it. You can write a project with ideas, objectives, goals, growth strategies, with a personal presentation and if we require other information we will request it later.
I congratulate you on your achievement, because I am sure you will also soon be a whale and the blue ones that are beautiful, large and also very calm that enjoy swimming in the depth, only eating krill and helping small fish.
See you on the way.
Good vibes.

Thank you as always for your kind thoughts and wishes.

I appreciate your following up with what offgridlife mentioned. I will have to respectfully decline your generous invitation. I've managed in my three years of participation in social blockchain starting with Steem of avoiding usage of the Discord site. I don't foresee this ever changing. I barely have the time for Blurt, and can't imagine spending even more time in a Discord discussing the chain as well. I know many have allowed the Discord to become a huge time sink, and I just don't have that luxury nor inclination.

I do think there are two projects that would bode well having said that, if you are able to find someone who has both the time and uses the Discord.

The first would be a curation account dedicated to kindness. It could curate for acts of kindness both on and off chain. One example that comes to mind would be one such as this from abmleon.

https://blurtter.com/blurtimals/@abmleon/a-simple-effort-to-make-a-shelter-for-street-dogs

I understand that it was already curated by another curation project Blurtimals, however I believe that this system is built on the notion of kindness bonding us together as a community. What an awesome project if acts of kindness were promoted by rewarding those who pay it forward.

The second project I could see being beneficial to Blurt would be a curation project that rewards comments. I've seen complaints here regarding the paying of fees, specific to the action of leaving a comment. I believe encouraging more participation in comment sections will accomplish two separate goals.

The first goal will be to strengthen the interaction among community members as not only can such a project randomly erase that fee for them, but most likely reward them as well.

The second is that it will promote interaction which will increase the bonds we have here as a community. The more folks share of their hearts with one another, their passions, bonds will be formed or strengthened. Giving us all who view these exchanges a better view into the hearts and minds of those sharing this community with us.

I've been involved in groups who were opposed (some violently in their thoughts and words) to views I've held. I found that instead of getting defensive, that by presenting my views and experiences in a calm manner, making myself human in their eyes, they began to understand our differences. As well as understand perhaps we weren't that different at all.

Dialogue can solve so much, can bind us together in ways preconceived views of one another prohibit.

Thank you again for all of the kindness and kind thoughts you hold for me. I appreciate both these actions and the kindness you exhibit not only to myself, but all who are here and our fellow animal inhabitants in the world.
