Tuesday, we are in the Greater Week of the Christian calendar, in which the Passion and Death of Christ are commemorated... Today's entry is a bit strange for me, you see, I usually focus on what happens in my daily life and on ephemeris to share something with my readers, but today, I found myself in the mail with a link to a news item that left thinking. I don't like to discuss current affairs in my country, as I usually find it to be quite disappointing and depressing, as well as limiting the interest of my readers from other countries a lot, but in this case, I couldn't get it out of my head, and I'm going to comment.
The photo that heads the publication is from an article in Spanish on the site https://www.medianalisis.org/la-radio-comunal-de-medianalisis-y-los-enemigos-de-quienes-tener-sed/ that narrates the situation of confrontation of a community, led mainly by a pastor of a Protestant Christian church, I think Presbyterian, claiming the lack of piped water and for agricultural use, despite having a dam nearby, the thing is that it seems that it has to do with the diversion of water resources for use in mining, leaving people to suffer an artificial drought... 180,000 people, at least, is the number of people who suffer directly from the situation.
One of the additional problems is that the company that exploits the mineral has the support of strong economic and political sectors. In one of the protest activities, a component of the army, the Bolivarian National Guard, and He arrested one of the Pastors of the Church, but without an arrest warrant, without the presence of a prosecutor... in addition to the fact that it was not their responsibility, since the Pastor is a civilian, that is a matter of the police, not the army In the end, everything was very strange. Martes, estamos en la Semana Mayor del calendario cristiano, en la que se conmemora la Pasión y Muerte de Cristo... En el día 760 desde aquel viernes en que se anunció la #Cuarentena en #Venezuela por la #Pandemia de #Covid19. Tiempo ha pasado, pero casi siento que he perdido un poco la noción de este tiempo.
El registro de hoy me resulta un tanto raro, tú verás, suelo enfocarme en lo que sucede en mi vida diaria y en las efemérides para compartir algo con mis lectores, pero hoy, me encontré en el correo con un enlace a una noticia que me dejó pensando. No me gusta discutir cosas de actualidad en mi país, pues suelo encontrar que es bastante decepcionante y deprimente, además de que limita mucho el interés de mis lectores de otros países, pero en este caso, no pude sacarlo de la cabeza y lo voy a comentar.
La foto que encabeza la publicación es de un artículo en español en el sitio https://www.medianalisis.org/la-radio-comunal-de-medianalisis-y-los-enemigos-de-quienes-tienen-sed/ que narra la situación de enfrentamiento de una comunidad, dirigida principalmente por un pastor de una iglesia cristiana protestante, creo que presbiteriana, en reclamo a la carencia de agua por tuberías y para uso agrícola, a pesar de contar con una represa en las cercanías, el asunto es que parece que tiene que ver con el desvío del recurso hídrico para su uso en minería, dejando a la gente para que sufra una sequía artificial... 180 mil personas, como mínimo, es la cantidad de gente que sufre directamente por la situación.
Uno de los problemas adicionales, es que la empresa que realiza la explotación del mineral cuanta con apoyo de fuertes sectores económicos y políticos, llegando el caso de que en una de las actividades de protesta llegó un componente del ejército, la Guardia Nacional Bolivariana, y tomó en arresto a uno de los Pastores de la Iglesia, pero sin orden de detención, sin presencia de un fiscal... además de que no les correspondía, pues el Pastor es un civil, eso es cosa de la policía, no del ejército, en fin, que todo era muy raro. La comunidad bloqueó el camino y se arriesgó a enfrentarse contra los militares, al final lograron que soltaran al Pastor, pero quedó la amenaza de que volverían por él y por otros dirigentes.
La situación apunta a que entre los que se benefician de la minería en la zona, están superiores militares, así que usan a los componentes militares bajo su mando como una guardia mercenaria privada para proteger sus intereses y eliminar opositores... Es demasiado decepcionante que algo como esto sea "Normal" en Venezuela, que las fuerzas del Estado estén al servicio de particulares y se vendan como mercenarios al mejor postor. En serio que es muy decepcionante.

Pasando a comentar cosas personales, he tendió hasta ahora un día clamado, no me voy a quejar mucho. Aproveché de tomar una foto más o menos reciente y someterla a un filtro de semitonos grises para compartirla también, simplemente como una manera de sacar mi cabeza de las noticias y hacer algo medianamente creativo.
