Took a rest underneath a big rain tree after I done walking with my buddy and found a remarkable sight along the shallow portion of the river when I look below.
The water in the river is so shallow and I saw some people gathering clams on its muddy bottom. Some use shovel while others use their bare hands to scoop the mud to an improvised strainer to separate the clams into the mud.
This is the view of the river as I took a photograph near the clamming site. Portions of its muddy bottom was exposed and we can walk to the middle of the river with my pet dog to take a dip in the water.
As I took photographs, my pet dog rested for a while on the ground to make herself cool by the drying mud.
Then before we went home, I took photographs of some of their catch for identification and it turned out that these clams are fresh water clams known by the locals here as "unnok" and Tagalogs call these as "ginukan" and it is identified as Delillia sp. by its scientific name.
I also bought some from these guys and my wife added some ginger and lemongrass on it for a serving of a simple clam soup with a comforting aroma.
That's all for now and thank you for reading. God bless!
