My efforts to fight on the issue of Child Sexual Abuse

Child Sexual Abuse is one of the grave problems not only in India but world wide and it is something that needs to be kept addressing all the time, because it is not some virus which will come and go. This is one virus in the society that has been forever and god knows how long these demonic acts will continue. Will our Children ever feel 100% safe, is a big question to ponder on for all of. I believe not until we address this issue very loudly and bring enough awareness in the society and punish all these criminals in a way that no one would dare to even think of committing such acts.

This is a project that I am working on with one of the NGO foundation Sakshi. We have been doing seminars, reaching out to schools, institutes and spreading awareness on Child safety and Equality. Since with the pandemic we are not able to do that, so we are making videos and sharing it with as many as we can.

The video covers discussion on topics like;

• In my own growing up did I ever face a situation of abuse
• What does Equality mean
• Prevalence of Child sexual Abuse in India
• At majority are Child sexual abusers strangers or from our known people
• Behavioral and acts that constitutes child sexual abuse
• Handling Children sensitively while addressing this issue with them
• Responsibilities of Parents while dealing on this with their children.

There is a lot more that we have to cover, but it would be good to know in small sessions for people to absorb it, since long videos people lose their focus.
