Rent at Jabba's Palace

How much is Rent at Jabba's Palace?

It's the most expensive real estate in the Star Wars board game universe, but it hasn't changed much since the time of Boardwalk and Park Place.

My son invited me to play the clone war version of Star Wars Monopoly. Two places makes a slow monopoly game, but he just wanted to try it out.

The game is played just like regular Monopoly except the names have been changed. Instead of houses there are settlements and instead of Hotels there are cities. There are Jedi cards and Sith cards instead of community chest and chance. It was pretty fun to read the cards and settle the properties.

Rent at Jabba's palace is 2000 credits and one settlement is 200 credits. So the rent at Jabba's is 2200 credits. That is enough for anyone to get close to bankrupt.

We sped up the game by using an auction for cards that we didn't want to buy. Having an action with only two players is pretty funny. We just gave the properties away for as cheap as possible and helped each other to get monopolies. We set the time for one hour and just played for fun.

The game can help elementary school students gain confidence in numbers and also improve communication and conflict resolution. It is not as boring as a regular Monopoly game and not as violent as the game I played with my brothers many years ago. I don't think it is worth the 70 dollar price tag, but everything seems overpriced these days.

The New Obi- Wan episode

We watched all the Boba Fett episodes. Now Obi-Wan Kenobi has his own show. We watched the first episode and princess Leah was really cute. It felt like watching an episode of Netflix's Anne of Green Gable until the plot twist came.

It's worth watching for Star Wars fans, but my kids said there was not enough Luke. They were disappointed when the only glimpse of Luke was from far away. My wife hated the suspense of the whole episode. But that's the way Boba Fett and Mandalorian went. There wasn't much dialog in the first episode. It's just a lot of mystery and suspense. I would say it is worth watching just to see Princess Leah in her most bratty behavior.

Anakin vs. Obi-Wan - John Williams

Star Wars wouldn't work without the great music tracks from John Williams performed by The London Symphony Orchestra.

I chose this one considering the background of the Obi-Wan movie. The song shows the struggle between Anakin and Obi-Wan. From that time on Obi-Wan thought he had failed, but in fact he had restored balance in the force.

When I was a kid watching Star Wars it looked like the theme of light verses dark, but as the years go by I see the theme of the balance of light and dark.

There are always new mysteries revealed to me in the Star Wars World. A funny thing is now Disney owns the voices and images of the star wars movies and with AI they will bring back to life characters that we would not expect to be walking and talking at their age.

This picture pretty much explains everything. Rent at Jabba's is 2200 credits. That's not a bad rate considering the cost of rent of a place in Seoul.

It seems complicated for me to play that game but I guess that it is a fun game to play with friends and family. I never seen one played here in my country nor that Monopoly board game.

Speaking of games when we played scrabble with my cousin he insisted that "gasmen" is a word😆 maybe until now he believes that it is a word, he is a computer engineer.

With regards to star wars it is always an exciting movie to watch, lots of characters to like but the episode with that stereo type "Whoopie Golderg" alien called Jar Jar binks just puts me off lol.

I guess if it is in the dictionary than the word counts. In the Oxford dictionary "gasmen" is the plural of "gasman".

I think Jar Jar is kind of cute.
My kids were iffy about Obi-Wan. There is another mysterious inquisitor who is low ranking but seems to be fed information from Anakin directly. She is the "villain" in the new episode and she creeps everyone out.

LOL, we did not see the word gasmen from the dictionary that we are using that time. Because for us we think that it is two separate words, I guess tat my cousin is vindicated now. @mineopoly

The characters in star wars are still entertaining to watch and I am excited like many most people to see another sequel of it. 👍

I remember playing one of the variations and could never get used to the new names. What's the currency now? Space bucks instead of dollars?

This and especially Risk would cause some heated arguments once you got really go into it.

I don't think these games are worth the prices they go for nowadays @casualfriday. The currency they use in the game is called "credits". It's almost exactly the same as the original Monopoly game. I always called settlements "houses" and cities "hotels". If you learn something when you are a kid it is very difficult to change it.

We set a time for one hour and a half. If the games are taken seriously arguments would definitely arise. I remember playing risk and the temptation to throw those pieces is real.

Credits. I should have known this one.

I haven't read a Calvin and Hobbes strip in a long time. They always know how to boil things down to the basics and make you laugh.

As for Risk, I keep thinking of that Seinfeld episode where they're playing it on the subway. We never got to this point but we did have a table for these type of situations and we might have put some caution tape around it on long game sessions :)

You know how to craft a great comment!
