Sunrise, Blue Skies and the Beach

I have been procrastinating my visit to the Playa since we arrived about 4 weeks ago. We have not been here since 22 months because of the pandemic. And now, we are back in Costa del Sol, Southern Spain. It´s good to be here because the sun shines daily and the temps are much warmer than in Central Europe.

My week started with this sunrise at breakfast, it is mostly like this everyday for as long as the sky is not covered with dark clouds. Since we now have wintertime, the sun rises from the Eastern part of our area between 7:45 - 7:50 AM and moves to the South until it sets going to the West.

Monday had been a beautiful day as I captured this image from our terrace, the sky was blue and was reflected on the quiet Med Sea. It was time to go down the coast because I had errands to do.

After I went shopping for cleaning materials for the house, I finally decided to go to the Playa and took these images. It was still quiet because the tourists that come here usually start their days exploring the area at around 10:00 AM. The locals take their breakfast at around 10:00 AM.

The Promenade is long as Torrox has around 9 Kilometers of sea shore and and various beaches. The Ferrara Beach, one of many, is located in front of this hotel which is always fully booked in Summer. A nicely built hotel in typical Spanish architecture, it has a huge swimming pool frequented by kids of the hotel guests. Beside the hotel is the Monday Rastro (Flea and Fresh Market). During weekdays, the wide area is used as parking lot.

The beach area is quite empty because it is getting colder everyday and nobody dares to swim as the water is already cold. But the town is getting ready for the flock of tourists that stays during the wintertime escaping cold Northern and Central Europe.

In a couple of weeks as December is approaching, more tourists will come and people will now be in their jackets and coats simply to just enjoy the swift breeze and the sea as well as the sunrays.
