A time for gratitude

in blurtlife •  2 years ago  (edited)

Thanksgiving is this week in the US and it is one of the heaviest traffic days of the year as people travel to be with family and friends to celebrate the national holiday.

My family will be here and we will celebrate with a traditional feast with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries and pumpkin pie! And a multitude of various sides!

It seems every US President since the beginning of the nation has proclaimed a day of Thanksgiving, but it wasn't until 1941 that President Roosevelt issued a proclamation designating the fourth Thursday in November (which is not always the last Thursday) as Thanksgiving Day.

Happy Thanksgiving! Be extra grateful this week!
