Every one of us knows Coca Cola and has his own opinion about it. Whatever one may think of the sparkling refreshing sugary beverage, nobody will be able to deny the influence of this original American drink on our society and on pop culture worldwide.
Coca Cola is one of the best known brands in the world, represented at all the important and unimportant events that take place all year around the globe.
From time to time, I am allowing myself the pleasure and enjoyment of having some chilled black carbonated soft drink. Not always, when I actually need and want it, is a suitable and tasty alternative right at hand. "Vita Schwarz" can you hear me?
Also here in Japan Coke had rushed through the country in a glorious triumphal march and left his traces everywhere. Some of them aren't always fresh, but that's why they're all the more charming.
And for this reason I am opening a new series!

Advertising signs for Coca Cola - The older and more weathered, the better. Even if the shop belonging to it may no longer exist, show me what you have seen on the way.
Today let's start with a charming Coke poster with the typical street scene from Ochijuku 大内宿, and an simple plaque I spotted while driving around here in the prefecture, which forced me for a sudden stop to take out my camera for a quick picture. I have no idea when was the last time you could buy some coke here, but the sign has survived all the changes different times has brought.

I think especially in the "land of the free" there should be countless, wonderful artifacts to find.

Jeder von uns kennt Coca Cola und hat seine ganz eigene Meinung dazu. Wie immer man zu dem das spritzigen Zuckerwasser auch stehen mag, keiner wird wohl der Einfluß dieses ur-amerikanischen Getränkes auf unsere Gesellschaft und auf die Popkultur weltweit betreiten können.
Coca Cola ist eine der bekanntesten Marken der Welt, vertreten bei allen wichtigen und unwichtigen Event, die das ganze Jahr über rund um den Globus abgehalten werden.
Ich selber gönne mir von Zeit zu Zeit auch mal die Freude und den Genuss. Nicht immer ist, wenn es mich gelüstet, eine passende und wohlschmeckende Alternative zur Hand. "Vita Schwarz" hörst du mich?
Und auch hier in Japan ist Coke in einem glorreichen Siegeszug durchs Land gerauscht und seine Spuren hinterlassen. Diese sind teilweise nicht immer ganz frisch aber gerade deshalb um so charmanter.
Und aus diesem Grunde eröffne ich hiermit eine neue Reihe!

Werbeschilder für Coca Cola - Je älter und verwitterter, desto besser. Auch wenn es den dazu gehörenden Shop nicht mehr geben mag, zeigt mir, was ihr so unterwegs gesehen habt.
Den Anfang machen heute ein Coke-Plakat mit der typischen Straßenszene aus Ochijuku 大内宿, und eine Plakette, die ich im Vorbeifahren erspäht hatte, und die mich darauf zum Anhalten gezwungen hat. Keine Ahnung, wann es hier zum letzten Mal eine Coke zu kaufen gab, das Schild hat jedenfalls den Wandel der Zeiten überlebt.
Was habt ihr zu bieten?
Ich denke besonders in dem "Land der großen Freiheit" sollte es unzählige, wundervolle Artefakte zu finden geben.
