The Będzin castle is a classic example of defensive construction. It is situated on a high escarpment on the left bank of the Czarna Przemsza River.

It was established at the turn of the 14th century and was the defense system of the western border of Poland from the Czech side. He also secured trade routes from Silesia to Krakow.

Initially, it was a wooden manor, but on the initiative of King Casimir the Great, a reconstruction took place and a defensive brick castle was built in the place of the manor.

The castle was visited by Polish kings, including Henryk Walezy, Jan III Sobieski, and August II the Strong.

In the mid-fourteenth century, a four-sided tower was erected next to it, and later a residential building was added. The whole is surrounded by two stone walls.

The currently restored Castle in Będzin arouses admiration and delight of those passing by, along the busy road located nearby. Illuminated at night, it makes an amazing impression. Currently, there is the Zagłębie Museum, where we can see a rich collection of white, fire and throwing weapons and weapons.

Every year in September there are open-air competitions and meetings, knight tournaments, and Castle Shooting with Black Powder and Pneumatic Weapons. The Knight Brotherhood of the Będzin Castle also operates at the castle.
