Yellow earth tongue, the Yellow fan, or the Fairy fan, Spathularia flavida - Mushroom from the helmish family (Rhytismatales), has a separate leg and head, reaches a height of up to 8 cm. The head is mostly spatulate, folded, fan-shaped, yellow and olive yellow in color.
The leg does not exceed 4 cm in height, it is smooth, lighter in color than the head, light yellow, whitish, sometimes cream, smooth. Most of the stem is hidden in the ground, litter.
The flesh is soft, jelly-like, gel-like and cartilaginous, light yellow or white in color. It has a delicate and pleasant taste and smell.
Occurrence: The fungus can be found in spring and summer, in coniferous and mixed forests, in clearings, on the edge of forests, among grasses and mosses. It grows singly and in groups. It grows in North America, Europe and Asia. It is less and less frequent in Poland. Value: edible mushroom.
