Everyone who very often goes to the forest to pick mushrooms in one region has so-called "his spots". These are places where you can meet a particular species of fungus every year at a certain time.
Of course, as an experienced mushroom enthusiast, I also have such places. This time we will visit the forests near the town of Podzamcze, where red-capped scaber stalk appear in autumn. Although it used to be a common mushroom in this region, it has become difficult to find in recent years. And I have to admit that this is my favorite variety prepared in vinegar.
It can reach quite large sizes, there are known cases that it weighed several dozen dkg. Like most goat makers, he likes the company of birches and aspens, whose small islands are often buried among pine and spruce forests.
Red-capped scaber stalk has a very hard flesh, which turns blue when damaged. It has a pleasant mushroom smell and a delicate mushroom taste.
Often in the same area there is another species of mushrooms, namely Rough-stemmed bolete. It is also very hard, firm and can reach impressive sizes. It differs in the color of the hat, which is usually brown, and the leg, which is covered with black villi.
It is also a very tasty mushroom, perfect for vinegar marinades and as an addition to sauces and soups.
