Mushrooms tend to absorb heavy metals, and in this case Helvella Spadicea is in the lead. Collects very large amounts of Nickel and Silver. In the east, mainly in China, it is considered a medicinal mushroom.

It may owe its healing properties to a large amount of silver, which we know is bactericidal. In ancient Greece, drinks were drunk from silver goblets, which were effective against bacteria.
