Russula aurea's hat is multicolored. Yellow, orange and red colors are intertwined there. It can reach up to 9 cm in diameter. When young, it has a semicircular shape, becomes flat over time, and in old age it can become concave. The surface of the hat is smooth, the edges do not have visible stripes.
The gills of a young mushroom are white-cream in color, later turn yellow, have a characteristic golden blade, hence the name of the mushroom. The gills are quite wide, brittle.
The leg is snow-white. May be up to 2.5 cm thick, smooth, dry, full on center but may be spongy in mature specimens.
The flesh is cream colored. Another distinctive feature of this species is the fact that the flesh under the hat's skin has a pink tint, sometimes yellow or orange. The taste is mild, the smell is slightly mushroom.
Occurrence. It occurs in all species of forests, mainly on calcareous soils. It grows from spring to autumn. It is a rare mushroom. Application. Edible mushroom.
