Mushrooms like sea anemones - Clavaria argillacea

The mushroom does not have a separate hat, it consists only of a long club-shaped leg. The mushroom structure resembles sea anemones. Clavaria argillacea is usually yellow, yellow-orange, clay in color. It grows in small clusters. The club can be up to 15 cm high.

The flesh is whitish, delicate, has no specific, characteristic smell or taste.

Occurrence: In Europe, the fungus is quite popular, in Poland it can be found less and less, it is on the list of endangered species. If we manage to come across it, it is most often found among grasses, moors and peat bogs. It grows on the ground. It appears in summer and grows until late autumn. Value: The mushroom is edible, but does not present any particular flavor.
