Hat, Leg

The fruiting body has irregular shapes. May be club-shaped. oval, resembling human fingers. Length up to 11 cm, thickness up to 3 cm. When the mushroom is young it is brown in color. then turns black. The surface of the fruiting body is dull and slightly rough.

Flesh

The flesh is white, very hard, woody and fibrous. Faint taste and smell not perceptible.

Occurrence

Occurrence: The fungus is quite common. It grows in clumps that often resemble a human hand with fingers. grows on deciduous trees, close to the ground, on fallen branches, old trunks in mixed forests and parks. It can be found on all continents (except Africa and Antarctica). It can grow straight from the ground, which arouses great emotions among beginner mushroom pickers, because it looks like a hand of a dead man. Application of the mushroom is inedible.
