For starters, a saying that is probably known in most countries, which works in many situations of our lives, even on HIVE
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do"
This is another very intelligent representative of corvids that consistently haunts my favorite bench. He knows where his place is and patiently waits for treats, i.e. peanuts.
He is not aggressive, does not chase other birds away, but calmly observes the whole environment.
This bird is a carrion crow belonging to the crow family, of which there are many species in Europe.
It is a massive bird with a big hard beak that screams and caws terribly loudly and is easy to recognize. Its wingspan can reach over 1 meter and it weighs 600 grams.
It has a characteristic plumage that distinguishes it from other corvids that are black or graphite in color. It is impossible to confuse a crow with another bird. Apart from the gray back and belly, the other parts are covered with black feathers. The beak and legs are also black, while the eyes are dark brown.
The crow prefers places with a lot of trees, for example parks, gardens, forest edges, but it also does not avoid urban housing estates, where, together with magpies and jackdaws, it feeds on landfills, in garbage cans.
It is an omnivorous bird, it does not despise carrion, fish, snails, small rodents, but it has its favorite foods. It is the fruits of trees and nuts, for which she really likes.
He can crack a walnut by throwing it against stones or the road. Apparently, there are known cases of a magpie throwing nuts under the wheels of moving cars to crack them. He already has cracked nuts at my place, so he comes to the bench in the hope of getting something.
