The fungus takes various shapes, it can be spherical, club-shaped, conical, funnel-shaped. The surface is usually white with characteristic blood-red drops of discharge. With age, the tip of the fungus becomes flat, the droplets disappear, it becomes rusty-brown, with nodules and furrows at pressure points it darkens.

The lower part of the hat - Hymenophore is covered with flexible spikes that can be up to 5 cm. They turn purple and brown with age.

The leg may be 6 cm high and 3 cm thick. It is cylindrical in shape, hard and full inside. It is reddish-brown and brown in color.

The flesh is hard, corky, black-spotted, zoned. The taste is sharp, stinging, the smell is pleasant and slightly spicy.

Occurrence. Echinacea grows on the ground, in mountain forests with a predominance of conifers, mainly under spruce and pine trees. They appear in August in the summer and grow individually or in groups until October. In Poland, the species is under strict protection. Usage: inedible mushroom.
