Mingun, or actually a guide took us there. Incredibly kind man, instead of the 5 temples included in the price, he showed us 11 of them. He didn't know, however, that I was wearing an 11 kg backpack with electronics, it was over +35 degrees in the shade, and you had to climb stairs to reach each temple.
Well, I survived this nightmare marathon, but from the last temples I remember only what the camera recorded - good and that.
Next to the Mingun Temple on the Irrawaddy River (Ayeyarwady) about 11 km from Mandalay, there is a giant bell in a specially built pagoda. It is the largest working bell in the world. It was cast in 1808 in bronze during the reign of King Bodawpaya. Ultimately, the bell was to be located in the unfinished Mingun Temple, which, however, fell into ruin after a powerful earthquake.
The bell weighs 90 tons and is open to the public. You can even use it by hitting it with a special wooden club. The sound it makes is really powerful.
