My job is already complete...only the timeline is up for debate.

DPoS and Hive governance- as it is now - is not re-inventing the wheel, it's something that's pretending to re-invent the wheel, for it's own marketing (and profit) purposes.
It has not been designed with view to free speech and work/merit, being rewarded.

I was gonna write this in the comments section - but making into a post serves for greater exposure (off hive).

This the post in question.
https://peakd.com/hive-150329/@ura-soul/when-is-a-censor-not-a-censor-the-wider-implication-of-downvotecancel-culture-on-hive

A very good read, and highly recommended.

The wheel has already been invented...

This response below in an excerpt from the conversation that ensued from the post, but sums up (in my opinion) the disconnect.
Between the mechanics of building said code - coders -and the reality of the human being.

Before the reply (underneath the red dividers)...a little digression...

Reality will always wins.
It's a shame about 'the body count', 'the corpses' that are a result of idiotic thinking (and actions) by the tyrants in charge.
So while 'reality' is in the process of re-asserting itself (as it always must) the tyrants ensure that the body count continues to pile up, while at the same time, their net worth increases.
I.E - The opposite of 'doing the right thing'.

The power dynamic of the tyrant is always the same - no matter what ecosystem is being looked at.

1/ Maintain control of assets.
2/ Gather around them a sycophantic mob of sheep to perpetuate the faux reality, and to defend against those that question their faux reality.
3/ Ensure the wealth is forever moved upwards.
4/ Discard the sheep (useful idiots) when they are of no use any longer.
5/ Collapse (incompetence + corruption).

Principals do not change - only the terrain.
*This comment is only in reply to the downvoting mechanism - it is not the 'fix all' to the many issues that the Hive DPoS governance system has - not by a long shot.
It's a start, though.

@guiltyparties

If they cannot downvote, meaning if they cannot disagree with rewards and acceptance of a concept (with acceptance presumably shown as upvotes) then they themselves are silenced._

The postmodern 'mental gymnastics' are a sight to behold.

'Disagree with rewards' is a smokescreen to allow for tyrannical actions - to maintain control of a very large proportion of crypto tokens.

A moral precept is an idea or opinion that’s driven by a desire to be good. An ethical code is a set of rules that defines allowable actions or correct behavior.

Disagreeing with a post - in comments - is an expression of ones morals.

No silencing.

Downvoting a post is stealing the inflationary rewards away from the upvoters own algorithmically allocated amounts (i.e - not from the post itself).
The rewards are taken by force (no consent),and then redistributed back into the rewards pool.
This profits the action of downvoting, and is unethical.
(if not illegal).

If you think not being able to downvote a post, is silencing, you do not understand the principals of morals and ethics.

If 'the people at the top' cannot grasp the difference between morals and ethics, and how they are implemented in an ecosystem - they need to employ people more intelligent than themselves, to do the job.

(Are they not intelligent, though ?... Or are they being willfully -intentionally - blind.... Because of the profit motive?).

Theft is universally - socially - seen as 'illegal'.
Ethically wrong.

Talking about stealing is NOT ethically wrong.
Vocal criticism or expression of any idea, is free speech.

There is no 'silencing' involved.

The consequences of unethical behaviors...

I now speak freely about hive and the hive DPoS governance system all over the place.
I am now only ever 'upvoted' for my actions (paid subscriptions and donations).

Unethical behaviors - will reap what it sows.

I'm evidence of this dynamic occurring.

Objective eyes have looked over certain accounts - and the voting patterns of said accounts - and they see collusion, discrimination , and malicious activities that financially reward the perpetrators.
*funny coincidence....It's also in direct contravention of a rule in the UN charter of human rights!
I.e ...this is NOT from my biased perspective.

We all need to 'fill our bowls of rice'.
I ditched my other activities to write full time on hive. An experiment. (I'm debt free and so need very little to fill my daily 'bowl of rice').

Supporters of my work on hive made this model possible.

The unethical activities on my account have now made this impossible.

Thats some good advertising for Hive as a 'new type of economy', uh?

I've had to change my model.
Which means that it involves most of my activity being no longer hive.

Are you sure those 'at the top' really want any growth at all ?... or are their ambitions very different from what they 'advertize'?

I've profited off my downvoting attacks, by writing about my experiences over the last 8 months using my own account as an example .
And showcasing all the other examples.
In doing this, I'll be able to recoup a large proportion of the downvote values...(ALL of it, believe me).

If you think that 'all publicity is good publicity', I have some beachfront property in Wyoming to sell you.

I now have some sockpuppet accounts to 'cheat' the corrupt system ...ie I'm writing things that are utterly irrelevant, banal, and stupid .
This serves to take value away from 'the beast of hive' - and aids in recouping more of my down voting rewards.
This also adds to lowering the average quality of posts and interactions on hive, making it less attractive.

This is me 'making lemonade' from the evil, vindictive, and putrid lemons that have been thrown my way.

I'm profiting off the ecosystems own corrupt ethos.
Poetic justice, or what?

I work on principals of ethics and morals.

It's both morally and ethically acceptable, for anyone to engage in trying to stop, or limit, the power of tyrannical systems.

(if your morals and ethics revolve around principals of freedom)

I was forced into doing this , via the financial terrorism enacted against my account.
All due to the dynamics that are enabled - and promoted as being valid , on hive
.

Does that indicate any kind of 'intelligent design?'. Seriously? lol
(if you're are not a scared control freak who finds playing god more fun than pursuing freedom).

My observations would indicate that 'the top echelons of hive' are a privileged 'woke mob' and are 'not very bright' (and that's being complimentary).

Many accounts/individuals (you never know which, due to a lack of accountability), express certain psychological markers that would indicate a....(censored!...not for hive content - psychological examinations of certain accounts are for my blog, nowadays).

If things carry on 'as is', I'm sure that the hive ecosystem and the large account holders will get everything that they deserve...and I'll try to ensure that this is, indeed, the case*.

*Barring any fundamental changes.
Changes that I see as about as likely to happen, as CRT -'critical race theory' - being extolled as the pinnacle of human achievements in the field of critical thinking and logic.

Starve the beast.

And now that I've sullied myself enough - I'm off to do some positive and happy things , elsewhere !

My argument is simple, for the layman's terms argument in the context of this comment you have made. You may recognize the language I use as its very simple and not meant to mislead people search for objectively true information, not opinion.

In response to;

There is no well understood documentation of this, if it is stake based, then Hive is a security and needs to have 100% KYC on every token issued anywhere touching hives end points.

@guiltyparties I ask you. **If downvoting, is not stake based and we require KYC on all end points, explain the circumstances that govern the on-chain function of large share holder 100% downvotes in direct comparison to small share holder downvotes? (if they are not equal, in utility, Hive is a security.)

We removed downvotes from Blurt because of the abuse factor, they become a club in the hands of psychpaths who flock to chains that have downvotes to fuel their bloodthirst for putting others down.

I have no quarrel with the greater Hive community, just a select cabal who spoil it for everyone.

On Blurt we maintain humility and good vibes always! Please feel at home.
