As she walked down the steps into the poorly lit reception area, she felt the darkness and dinginess of this new space invigorating, and not remotely intimidating - and very aware that this low level of excitement that she'd felt ever since jumping into the waiting taxi and hour ago, was increasing in it's intensity.
She could feel her breathing become heavier, the anticipation of not knowing anything of the events tonight only adding to even more layers of nervous excitement.
It's had been building up ever since getting out of bed this morning, in fact...
She'd find out about this surprise that had been planned, soon enough - of that she was sure....
He watched her intently as she opened the taxi door, delighting in her curves as she quickly entered the night club, knowing that she'd be waiting for him to arrive, stood in the dark foyer as he'd requested.
She loved to observe the people, and tonight would be no exception.
He knew full well that she’d be watching all the other clientele as they descended down the dark foreboding stairs, following their movements as they entered through a doorway that was obscured by a dark red velvet curtain.
Forever inquisitive, he could picture her as she stood there alone, looking both divine and demure, both unavailable and very accessible, simultaneously - trying to get peek view through the curtains into the nightclubs interior .
He also knew that she wouldn’t be able to see anything.
Her enthusiastic curiosity would never taking precedent over the instructions that he gave her earlier, which meant that she was stood in an area where looking through the curtains was impossible.
He knew exactly where she was standing.
He'd been a daily visitor to this establishment over this last week or so, just to make sure that everything was organized to perfection, for tonight’s events.
He lit another cigarette while still looking at the entrance to club, willing himself to be patient - stopping himself from jumping out of the car right there and then to go and meet his goddess who would be waiting patiently for him.
He was fully aware of the excitement that she’d be feeling right now, only 50 metres away, and this exciting him even more…
He decided to wait for another ten minutes…
As she watched the other party goers walk into the reception area and through into the nightclub proper, she thought that maybe there’d been a mistake with tonight, but quickly dismissed that idea.
He didn’t make those kind of mistakes.
The last six months of a roller coaster ride that they’d been on together, could testify to that.
He didn’t make mistakes.
For a fleeting moment, a sense of fear entered her mind - to be pushed out just as quickly as it came.
She smiled to herself while laughing inside.
She felt no fear anymore.
About anything.
As she stood there alone in a very revealing, lacy white cotton dress, she thought back to those first days that they’d spent together, and about the journey of a lifetime that she’d embarked upon, not knowing at that time where it would lead.
It had led to here.
To standing here tonight, and waiting for her man to meet her.
She watched all the beautiful women dressed in very expensive and sexy evening wear hold onto the arms of some very handsome men, some of them wearing very high end tuxedo’s, and all of them looking extremely elegant.
She felt very under dressed, the thought crossing her mind once more that there might have been a mistake.
‘NO!’ She said to herself, admonishing herself for doubting,
‘He doesn’t make those kind of mistakes’…
As she stood there she'd noticed lots of very admiring glances from both the men and the women who were walking past.
Her excitement levels rose once more, if that were possible...
Her nipples were growing erect, pushing against the flimsy fabric that was covering her breasts, and all to the very obvious delight of all those who were watching her...
Six months ago, she’d have been more than embarrassed at seeing people very obviously ogling her body – mortified even - but no more.
Never again...
She was a completely different person from the one she was only six months ago.
She was afraid of nothing…not now.
Not ever again.
...She smiled confidently back at the party goers wandering past as they mentally undressed her…
The thrill of being at the center of their very obvious lustful attentions, was only exciting her even more...she could feel the heat spreading from between her legs.
Her mind drifted back to that day on the high street six months ago, thinking of the time when she’d first met him.
“Oh....sorry !”, She said, not looking up at who she’d just bumped into as she left the shop.
“ Why are you sorry ?” Came the unexpected reply “…It was me that bumped into you, no apology necessary.”
“Sorry”, She said, once more, quickly adding “…not for being sorry, but for saying sorry when I had no need to. It’s a really bad habit of mine.”
“Well then , I really must insist on you letting me take you for a drink, to make up for all that ‘sorry’ bollocks. You can hardly refuse, not after making me listen to all that self pity, now can you ?”
She didn’t know what to say.
Men didn’t generally hit on her in shop doorways.
‘Was I being hit on, actually ?’, She quickly thought to herself, ‘or is he just feeling sorry for me, somehow ?’
‘Yes, I am’, He said, jolting her out of her thoughts, almost as though he was reading her mind, and answering her.
“ Tell me something…er…er…what IS your name, by the way ? ” He asked.
“Petra,” She replied, “Yours? ”
“Karl”, He said, “But most people know me as ‘the penguin’, or ‘the twat’, but that's only if they really like me..”
“Well, very pleased to meet you, Karl”, She said, holding out her hand…” And yes, I’d love to go for that drink ”…she paused…..”and what was it that you you going to ask me ? ”
“ Oh, I just wanted to know if you minded me smoking in bed, afterwards, there’ some really uptight people around, ya know."
“ Wait, just one fucking minute ! “ Petra said loudly “ I said I was going for drink with ya, not going to bed with you. ”
“Same, same,” Karl replied, with a wide grin and a cheeky wink of those very green eyes.
Taking hold of her hand into his, without asking, he set off in the direction of the local bar….
She couldn’t help but laugh at the audacity and cheek of this guy…
.....But He had another thing coming if he thought that she was really just going to jump into bed with him…
4 hours later...
“Let me go and get you a saucer, to put that ash in,” She said sitting up, putting the sheet self-consciously over her breasts, “ I gave up smoking ages ago, and don’t have any ashtrays lying around…”
“Ok, but only on one condition” Karl said, sounding very serious…
Petra smiled.
She’d only known him a few hours, but already knew how he liked to joke around…
“…And what condition might that be, then?", She said, giggling. ..She knew not expect the normal silly chit chat, not with this dude…
He looked her in the eyes, his tone serious …“ The condition is, that from this moment onwards, you never, ever, ever , cover that gorgeous body of yours in a self-conscious manner….Deal ?”
“Deal”, She replied, smiling shyly.
And for the first time in her life, she meant it.
She dropped the sheet that she was holding up, her breasts fully bare.
“Oh, and there’s one more condition “ Karl said…
“Oh, honestly…another one ?” She said dramatically, rolling her eyes…"Go on…”
“Every time you hop out of bed, you let me slap your arse…It’s the rules,”
“Yes sir,” she relied, mocking an army salute to him, in his direction…
Hopping out of bed to get the ashtray, she pushed her bum towards him, waiting for a playful slap that she knew was coming…..
The music inside the club had just gotten a whole lot louder, causing her to snap her out of her thoughts of how they'd met and how she’d no longer had any fear.
...._the losing of those fears had started on a very eventful day five months ago.
The day that had truly changed her life forever.
It was the day when Karl punched her…
