Why did this album pop up all of a sudden in my head and I just had to listen it on my bike? I have no idea why this happened and what triggered the fact that I found the album again. Luckily there are a lot of streamingservices these days and that means that when you think of something, there is also the option of listening to it. Hooray!
Pitchfork
Fair enough...while I was looking for the image of this album and I was reading the pitchfork review on how shit this album is, I had to grin a little bit. Because this 2004 album is frited into my mind as a classic. But a classic doesn't always mean quality. And now I am a little bit biased towards what the truth is.
Because is the album classic? Or did I just listen to it a whole lot in that time and was this one of the albums that define that specific period of time, but the quality of the song maybe wasn't really that good. You tell me!
A small grasp!
Don't worry about it
Groovy, groovy, groovy. One of these songs that you put on when you are hitting the shower before going towards some event. Maybe doing a little hip swing while at it. Not really a song with a climax, but just a starter to think about where you want to be heading out in the evening while putting on the heels for the evening ( I dont know how this works when you are a dude hahah)
Fly or Die
After the groovy song at the beginning of the album this song gives me the vibes of spring. Hopping on the bike, having the sun in the face, heading towards the friends to talk about what all happened over the last couple of weeks
'It won't be long...till you see me on the news'
Breakout
My personal favorite of the album. Especially the ending of the song where the snare drum kicks in going into a catchy moment is really the part where you start air drumming with the song. Am I the only one who does this? The lyrics really don't mean anything to me, it is all about the groove
She wants to move
This one most likely you are familiar with. The only song that actually came as a hit off of the 'Fly or Die' album, and starts with the distinct dog bark and an undefinable rhythm which everyone will know from this song.
Yeah..I think we all danced to this in bars hahaha
As I went through the album I also noticed that there were a lot of songs that I felt like skipping, and I remember that I also did this back in the days. This was when I had a cd player and I always stood up to skip 'Backseat love' for instance. So tedious and with nothing in there.
So again...is it quality? Or are these just quality memories about back in the days?
