Memories Behind A Smile

I like how you end your post in your last paragraph..."The present is what really matters".

With just more than six decades behind me, I can promise you, there is no sense in stressing about tomorrow. Enjoy the present. That is all that counts.

Obviously, it is wise to plan for the future and do everything you can to ensure a good future as far as it is under your control.

But once you have done what you can and what you have control over, try to relax and just enjoy the present.

One of our well-known rugby players here in South Africa, Clayton Blommetjies, made a great statement the other day. He said; "I make provision for the future as well as I can. But I only live for today, because this is where I am. I cannot live in the future or stress about it, because I'm not there yet. Neither does it have any purpose to hold onto the past, because I cannot change it. so, today is all I have".

following now :)

that statement that your rugby player said.. hmmm it's like he knows the Bible well! hahaha

mercies for the new day - but just like manna - we're not supposed to hold onto that... we await a fresh dose tomorrow - because God is faithful to provide! hehehe

and He promises hope for tomorrow! (the hope that the mercies will be waiting for us)

so glad we found one another here hahaha

I absolutely agree! I am still finding my way around...lol. Had a bit of a late start as you know, but hey, I'm sure I'll start picking up speed now...

Yes, indeed. And as you say...isn't that what faith is all about? Not holding on to what we have today, and knowing that God will provide for tomorrow!
