Ganesh Festival

Hello all

We Indian celebrate many festivals throughout the year. Some of the festival are more famous in local areas and some of then are celebrated in entire country. Some festivals are celebrated with different names in different locations but the reason behind the celebration may be the same.


In the second week of September we will celebrate the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. Ganesh also known as the Ganpati & Vinayak. He is also known as Vigan Harta (remover of obstacles). Ganesh Ji can easily identified by his elephant head (Their is a story behind it).
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebration of arrival of Ganesh to earth with mother Gauri form Kailash. People festival starts with install of Ganesh idol in homes a well as in public pandals (stages). The prayers and parshad distribution takes place every evening. The festival celebration end on tenth day with the emersion of idol in nearby water body.


Today I got a chance to visit a pedal near o my living place, where the artists selling the idols. Sharing those pictures..
