What happens when a big change happen in your life?
Sometimes things in life, do not go according to plan. We are so set in our ways, and when something suddenly changes, it throws us off our path and we struggle to get back on it.
Perhaps a loved one dies unexpectedly or you might lose your job that you have loved for many year.
Both of these examples can change your life tremendously, and you might struggle for a long time to get back on your feet.
While it feels as if everything in standing still around you, life continues, and you cannot stop living. The grieving process can be a long and tiring journey, but we all have to go through it to be able to continue with life.
We cannot just give up and go sit in a corner waiting for a miracle to happen to take away the pain. Eventually with time, the pain lessens, and we slowly find our way back into the world again.
Our lives are now changed, and we have to live it differently than we did before for so many years.
What do we do now?
We cannot just pickup and continue where we left off. Our worlds are not the same anymore. We have to find a new path to follow to strife towards happiness again.
When you are ready to start living again, it is important not fall into the same routine again. You will just look for things that aren't there anymore.
Get out of your comfort zone. If you were able to survive the big change in your life, what is stopping you from taking a few chances?
Make a list of things that you enjoy doing. Face reality. Stop comparing your old life with your new life. This is not an easy task and it is full of constant challenges. We tend to go back to our old ways because that is what we are used to.
We should try and keep the memories alive, but we need to realize that nothing will be as it was before, and we need to delve deep into ourselves and make the change. You have to find a new goal to live for.
Once that switch has flipped, you can do anything! Now you are more immune to change. If you had survived the worst thing possible to happen to you, then you can survive anything, because nothing will ever hit as hard again.
Remember to take it one day at a time. Make the best of every day and explore because the world is your oyster.
