Last night I had quite a weird experience. We had a friend over for dinner who is recently divorced. From the second he walked in until he left five hours later, all he could talk about was sex and how he misses it.
Let me tell you more about him. He is not a young man, and in his early sixties, but he was going on like a twenty-year-old trying to catch his first fish. (If you know what I mean)
Although he is not a young man, he is quite attractive. Because of Covid, he cannot meet new women in pubs so he decided to sign up on a dating site online to try and find someone that meets his standards.
Lucky me!
He is technologically disadvantaged and I had to help him to sign up on date sites so he could start his search.
To try and explain the concept of catfishing to him was a total failure, and in the end I signed him up for a site for seniors where he could find women of his own age, which according to me was not a catfishing site, and he could actually meet these women and exchange numbers with them.
Catfishing is a deceptive activity where a person creates a sockpuppet presence or fake identity on a social networking service, usually targeting a specific victim for abuse or fraud. The practice may be used for financial gain, to compromise a victim in some way, or simply as forms of trolling or wish fulfillment.
Personally, I think he is just lonely and he needs someone to talk to, because who in their right mind would just jump into bed with anyone they just met.
I just ended up laughing at him when I finally signed up and saw all the sites he tried to sign up for. All the sites were spam sites and they were killing him with messages begging him to meet and to have sex. Worst is he had to pay for it!
Hopefully, I blocked those sites now and he will stay on the right path but what astonished me was the fact that he was so desperate to meet someone. Surely if you get out of a relationship you don't want to jump into another one right away do you?
I fear for the first lady he will pursue because she will need to have her wickets straight because he just has one thing on his mind!
Perhaps I am just old-fashioned but if I ever find myself single again, I will definitely NOT go the online route thank you. I will stay on my own and get the necessary tools to help me out when the time comes. Pun intended.
Has anyone ever met someone online that they are in a relationship with currently?
I would love to hear how you actually met and how your story played out. Please comment below.
