Saludos a todos los miembros de la comunidad, ¿cómo están? Las emociones que me transmite ver a mi equipo de la Major League Baseball jugar con dificultades desde principios de temporada no es algo sencillo. El inicio de la temporada regular para los Atlanta Braves comparte características con la pasada en el sentido del no estar nada bien, tenemos un record de más partidos perdidos que ganados y respecto a nuestros principales rivales de división no hemos sido capaces de mantenernos, ganar las series contra ellos ha estado complicado. Esta nueva serie que estamos luchando por ganar contra los Philadelphia Phillies comenzó con una derrota, sin embargo, el partido de ayer estuvo parejo aunque nuestros competidores tomaron una ventaja importante en las primeras entradas.
Greetings to all community members, how are you? The emotions I get from watching my Major League Baseball team struggle since the beginning of the season is no easy feat. The start of the regular season for the Atlanta Braves shares characteristics with the past in the sense of not doing well at all, we have a record of more games lost than won and with respect to our main division rivals we have not been able to keep up, winning the series against them has been complicated. This new series that we are fighting to win against the Philadelphia Phillies started with a loss, however, yesterday's game was even although our competitors took an important advantage in the first innings.
Max Fried es uno de los mejores abridores que tenemos, pero la realidad es que hasta al mejor pueden hacerle carreras, eso pasó acá. Ahora, de tener una ofensiva consolidada y consistente con sus actuaciones no habría preocupación por un par de carreras en contra pero teniendo en cuenta que la alineación de los Braves no ha sido constante en sus conexiones pues sí había algo de nervio sobre si sería posible el mantener el marcador. Por fortuna para este partido la estrella del equipo, Acuña Jr. nos demostró que todavía tiene mucho juego pese a estar saliendo de una lesión que lo dejó afuera la temporada pasada, impulsando carreras. También apareció Matt Olson, quien a diferencia de lo que se esperaba con su llegada no ha estado efectivo a la ofensiva, sino a la defensiva, pero en esta oportunidad pudo hacer un home run.

La responsabilidad de ganar el partido quedaba entonces en manos de nuestra ofensiva que aunque estaba mostrando una buena actuación no daba seguridad, afortunadamente los malos picheos del cerrador de los Phillies consiguieron que Acuña Jr. elevara una pelota de sacrificio que sorpresivamente terminó sin ser agarrada por errores en la defensa, por lo que el corredor de tercera anotó y Acuña Jr. se quedó en segunda base.

The responsibility of winning the game was then in the hands of our offense that although it was showing a good performance did not give security, fortunately the bad pitching of the Phillies' closer got Acuña Jr. to hit a sacrifice fly that surprisingly ended up not being caught due to errors in the defense, so the runner from third scored and Acuña Jr. stayed at second base.
Con ese corredor en posición de anotación estando allí, pasó al bate William Contreras quien no había podido hacer nada en todo el encuentro… por esto no me esperaba que conectada un sencillo que mandara a Acuña Jr. al plato para el final del encuentro ganando por lo mínimo. Me encantó que pese a los errores que tuvo el equipo supieron salir adelante, la pericia de Acuña Jr. y la aparición de jugadores que sí encontraron algo de juego en este partido hicieron la diferencia. Si les da curiosidad el ver cómo se desarrollaron los mejores momentos de este partido les voy a dejar acá uno de los videos recopilatorios, aunque nunca será lo mejor, lo ideal es ver el partido entero de manera que se sienta la emoción, pero supongo que de igual forma es entretenido ver a un equipo hacer la diferencia en la última oportunidad.

I was delighted that despite the mistakes the team made, they were able to pull through, Acuña Jr.'s expertise and the emergence of players who did find something to play in this game made the difference. If you are curious to see how the best moments of this game unfolded I will leave here one of the compilation videos, although it will never be the best, the ideal is to watch the whole game so you can feel the emotion, but I guess it is still entertaining to see a team make the difference in the last chance.
