My thoughts about helping/supporting others

I believe we should not limit ourselves to helping the persons that we only know. Who knows, the other one that you help today might be the one who helps you later in your life, 10x of what you give.

There are instances that we will bump into a scenario that a random person will ask for our help. If it's something that I can work on without even taking much time or money, then I would be more than willing to do it. In my opinion, helping people that I know is a generous act while helping strangers is beyond. It takes more than just generosity to help others in need. For a person to do it, compassion & sympathy is needed to be moved by the other people's misfortune.

For doing so, a person could be as good as a saint. I believe those are the traits that Mother Theresa has that made her a living saint. It's not only that she help the poor people but she also lives with them and that's a greater act of helping others.

However, there are also instances that people will ask for help with bad intentions or hidden agendas. Well, it is something that we can't really tell especially when we are caught in a situation that we are not familiar with. So, in this case, we have to vigilant and be observant of what's really happening.

There are people who are capable of deceiving others into believing that they can't handle their misfortunes in life; even if they can. It's important to be critical in offering help to people that you don't know personally. And it's also important to provide help to the people that are truly in need. Take note that your time & effort is limited and so it's not wise to waste it on someone who does not deserve it.
