I decided to pick six Christmas songs that I liked. Only six. This is so much harder than it looks at first glance. Hundreds if not more than that litter my thoughts, running through the scales of songs, in different octaves and timbres. I will have to start off with a song that has been my personal favorite for almost as many years as I have been alive.
Little Drummer Boy
I have to say that this "Old School" version by the Acapella group, Pentatonix is my favorite. This is when they first became known and have since gotten a bit more glamorous with their outfits and makeup, a whole lot more commercialized.
Underneath the Tree
I admit to liking some of the newer versions of things, usually having to do with the video. I am visual as well as auditory. Of course, this one is both. I fully own that I love this song, the beat, the music, and especially her powerful voice.
You Make it Feel Like Christmas
How can you not love this fun song? Yes, it is shameless, but, love it. Aside from the real reason for the season, there is the commercialized part that I love too, I won't lie to you. Keeping it separated is important to me, but, I love both aspects of it.
Oh, Holy Night
I absolutely love the consummate violinist, conductor, and human being, Andre Rieu, best known for creating the waltz-playing Johann Strauss Orchestra. He is so loved by his fans and therefore, me. Share with me, this piece by Andre Rieu, while I close my eyes and let in a little bit of Christmas in my soul.
I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, The Christmas Hippo Song
I mean, seriously? Who didn't?
Carol of the Bells
The Vienna Boys Choir version is here, but, I like so many versions, it was hard to pick. I hope you enjoy these and post some for me to look at.
