According NOT to "the news," but to my cousin who is Danish and lives in Denmark, today my old native land took the next step in the world "Pandemic Circus" by... dropping all restrictions and returning to some semblance of "normal operations" without restrictions, vaccine passports, masks, limitations and other such things.
The interesting thing is that they are making this move at a time when the "new infection" rate is at an all-time high in Denmark...

How Can They DO Such a Thing?
Evidently, testing by the National Immunology Institute (Denmark's equivalent to the CDC) has determined that the current runaway infections happening with the so-called "Omicron Variant" in fact "... does not constitute a serious threat."
Translation:
The current variant is no more likely to kill you than the common cold and something along those lines. Therefore, comma, it makes no sense to force people to stay at home, nor to prevent businesses from being open.
But "be a decent human being!" If you're at home with a fever and hacking up a lung... do the right thing and stay at home and eat chicken soup till you feel better. Like you'd do if you had the flu, or something like that.
Supposedly, Norway is about to do the same thing...
One of the things that impresses me about the Danish government is that they do NOT try to make people believe that getting vaccinated will keep you from getting Covid, just that it will make it less likely that you'll need to be hospitalized... or will die.
After two years, it's interesting to watch how different countries are charting their respective paths through this soup.

If they all don't let up soon, all the leaders will have to live like Trudeau and rule from hiding. Here in the US they are pushing to allow 6 month old babies get the injection. Insanity.
Seems like the thing very few people want to hear is that most new/new variants of illnesses kill a lot of people early on, and then we tend to develop natural resistance... and then more or less forget about it all because the fatality rates drop to something we can stomach.
Although I am Danish, I actually live in the US these days (Washington state) so I get a front row seat to a lot of insanity... it all does need to end soon...
