What leads a person to addiction? Habit, lifestyle, or fate. The answer to this question is different for each person.
Smoking
There is no argument; it is one of the most addictive substances. You wake up in the morning, and the first thing you do with your cup of coffee is light a cigarette. But why? You start because others are doing it out of pure human curiosity, and then the cigarettes go one after the other. You find solace when you're nervous with a cigarette in your mouth. Or after "play in bed."
Like chocolate, cigarettes deliver endorphins to the brain. However, all this is just a product of our subconscious. The secret substance that most tobacco factories put in is not so confidential. Try smoking an e-cigarette for a month. Then light a regular cigarette, not to enjoy it, but carefully assess the smell, taste,...
Barely perceptible but strong enough to make you addicted. The smell of weed. It's no secret that in the past, many more prominent companies used narcotic substances to get people to buy their stuff. What prevents the tobacco factories from doing the same?
Gambling
This is already quite a familiar addiction. An addiction that we find not only in casinos and sports but also in everyday life. We play bass with friends, intending to win a favor or a prize. Don't think this isn't gambling. It becomes a habit of getting caught on the bass more often, and if you lose your human pride, it starts to show, and you keep going until you win.
The casino always wins.
Whether it's slots, sports, Bingo, or cards, any of these things lead to addiction. To overcome it requires either a strong will or therapy. You bet on a match, and you win a solid amount. You think luck will be on your side again and bet either the total amount or half. You can win again, but you can also lose. Either way, if you continue, it will lead to addiction.
Betting on matches is not only typical for young people but many older men and women resort to these ways in search of money. And this is one of the addictions that can cost your life, family, and property. I can't deny that I was an addict too. In the previous years, I helped many close and familiar people to overcome.
I told myself I go into the casino and get them out. I don't listen to the sound of the slots, the joyful shouts of the winners. I'm in and out. One day, however, I went in to help a friend. He muttered to me, "one last try," as he played Bingo. I typed the numbers for him because I've never been lucky. He had bet all the winnings, so I wanted to teach him a lesson. It was a mistake. On the first try, we hit Bingo and won $2,500. The next few months were rough. I played online Bingo every night. I was hooked. I lost, won, and lost again.
My mother had an accident, and I was looking for a way to raise money for her surgery—a quick and easy way to make a profit. I couldn't stop, however. And then I lost an entire salary. I didn't dare to tell my family. I wanted to play again to win them back, but I saw their faces. Their smiles. I couldn't fall any deeper into the trap. I deactivated all accounts, blocked sites, TV sports channels, and anything that could bring me back in the next difficult months. It was hard, my hands kept typing in the areas, but I couldn't log in. And I thought of my family and what God had given me every time.
No one learned my secret, not the family, not relatives and acquaintances. It was a war that a man alone must win with a will.
Be grateful for the little you have, don't fall into the trap of greed.
Alcoholism
Don't think that a glass of wine can't drag you to the bottom. The wonderful feeling you get when all your inhibitions have fallen—the freedom to express your emotions, feelings, and desires. Make your wildest dreams come true. All this has a tipping point. More and more, you'll want to go out, drink, and have fun. Or you will seek an escape from sorrow and problems in alcohol. This is not the solution.
Yes, the feeling is excellent, even for a few hours, to stop thinking and just act, to forget everything around you. However, when that feeling goes away, you have to face everything again. A glass of tears is much more soothing than a glass of alcohol. You may cry for a day or two, but everything you hide will come out; you will have faced the problem.
It's hard, but not impossible. We live in a reasonably modern world, we see countless stories in movies and TV shows, but we don't notice them. We don't learn from them. We let them become a reality. Parents beat their children from alcoholism, and young people end their lives by trying something new that they would not have done without alcohol. And all the girls and boys are sick with venereal diseases, pregnant, and raped in the club. Life is given to us to be lived, not to be ended.
suffer from the past, to long for the future, but to forget the present.

Addiction is the symptom.
chemicals, endorphins, habit, are the delivery systems.
If addiction is the symptom, then what is the root cause(s) ?
