In Russia there is such a winter fun, swimming in the ice hole. These people call themselves walruses.
After swimming, it is a real pleasure to sit by the Russian stove and taste the borscht cooked in it. In the old days, such a stove was in every village house. She warmed the home, cooked food and could even act as a bath. Now times have changed. It's more of a tribute to the past and a way to attract visitors.

From Russia with Love
My last post
Our first real snowfall starts in January here in Pennsylvania. Sometimes we don't even have a white Christmas like when we did when I was a kid. Love the pictures and the one with the flame inside the oven, really stands out.
Despite the fact that I have a northern city, sometimes we don't have snow on Christmas either. Climate has its own cycles.
