According to information I received from several sources, the German state has implemented a "lockdown" for citizens who have not been vaccinated as an effort to cope with the spike in Covid-19. Yes, this decision was reached on Thursday (18/11), when Germany reported 65,371 cases of Covid in a day.

In this case the leaders of the 16 states in Germany reached the agreement after holding an emergency meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel. They call this whole new rule 2G.

Under this 2G rule, residents who have not been vaccinated must submit a negative Covid-19 test result if they want to enter public facilities, such as public transportation or offices.

Currently, almost all German states meet the criteria for three patients per 100,000 people. Of all the states, only Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Saarland do not fall into that category.

Meanwhile, areas with hospital occupancy rates of more than six patients per 100 thousand people must apply the 2G plus rule.

According to information based on the regulation, public facilities can only be accessed by residents who have been vaccinated and show a negative Covid-19 test result.

In addition, areas with hospital occupancy rates of up to nine patients per 100,000 people must implement stricter rules, including banning contact between visitors.

Artela Merkel stated that the tightening of the rules was critical to tackling the "continuous" spike in COVID-19. According to him, the current regulations are not enough if people are still not vaccinated. A lot of the rules we're implementing now don't matter if more people don't get vaccinated," Angela Merkel said.

This is the brief information that I can share regarding the Lockdown Efforts for Citizens Who Don't Vaccinate in Germany and I hope this information is useful.

See you again in my next post. Thank you for reading. Stay safe and stay healthy. Health is Wealth.
