Esta que les muestro en fotos es mi colección de plantas suculentas.
Aproveché unos pallets que me quedaron de la última mudanza, los fijé a la pared, coloqué una madera a modo de estante fijándola en cada taco de soporte del pallet y que me quedó un funcional apoya-macetas para todas las suculentas que he ido coleccionando a través de los años.
Las variedades que tengo son muchas, a pesar de no llegar a las 60 familias de plantas suculentas que contempla esta especie.
El nombre de suculentas o crasas viene del latín donde significa "jugoso" o "sustancioso" y en efecto vemos en las mismas que sus hojas o sus tallos están especialmente adaptados para el almacenamiento de agua en cantidades mayores que las plantas sin esta adaptación.
Este es uno de los motivos por el cual hay que protegerlas mucho del frío porque cuando la temperatura es inferior a cero grado el líquido se congela y las plantas se secan y mueren, a diferencias de los cactus que resisten sin problemas tanto altas como bajas temperaturas, ya que su almacenamiento de agua en el interior de la planta es mínimo.
Asimismo tengo también algunas plantas de cactus. Descubrí, buscando en Internet, que los cactus pertenecen a las suculentas son una especie más, algunos copn espinas y otros sin ella
En post sucesivos les voy a mostrar todas las especies una per una tomando fotos en primeros planos de cada planta.
This is my collection of succulent plants that I show you in photos.
I took advantage of some pallets that I had left from the last move, I fixed them to the wall, I placed a wood as a shelf fixing it on each support block of the pallet and I got a functional pot-holder for all the succulents that I have been collecting over the years.
The varieties that I have are many despite not reaching the 60 families of succulent plants that this species contemplates.
The name succulent or succulent comes from Latin meaning "juicy" or "substantial" and in fact we see in them that their leaves or stems are specially adapted to store water in larger quantities than plants without this adaptation.
This is one of the reasons why they must be protected from the cold because when the temperature is below zero degrees the liquid freezes and the plants dry up and die, unlike cacti that resist without problems both high and low temperatures because their water storage inside the plant is minimal.
I also have some cactus plants. I discovered, looking on the Internet, that cacti belong to the succulents, they are one more species, some with thorns and others without them.
In successive posts I will show you all the species one by one taking close-up photos of each plant.
