The changes referred to are in the form of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and motives for farmers' actions. With these changes, it is hoped that farmers will be more open, active and dynamic.
Thus, the main objective of agricultural extension is not only to generate and change the knowledge, skills, attitudes and actions of farmers, what is more important is to change the nature of passive and static farmers into active and dynamic farmers. Farmers must finally be able to think and think for themselves to try and implement something they have heard and seen.
The purpose of long-term agricultural extension is to improve the standard of living of the farming community, or so that the welfare of farmers' lives is more secure.
A prosperous farming community is the goal to be achieved by agricultural extension. This can only be achieved if farmers are willing and able to change the way they do farming. The willingness and ability to change the way of farming is expected to become more productive.
