In today's content, I want to share with you my living room artwork ceiling (POP) review. I intensely like this ceiling because it beautifies houses. At onset, when we were building the house, we wanted to go for the conventional ceiling which is PVC due to the expenses.
The ceiling we later went for is called POP (Plaster of Paris). I learned it's a material used for making false ceilings. There are many materials through which false ceiling are built like Gypsum material, Fibre material, and Gyptone material but POP is the best of all. When you want to build a house, I will recommend you to use POP.
Before we went for this false ceiling making POP, it was a contractor that told us how good it was, and after hearing this, I made a research about it through the internet.
It's ceiling I like, because it beautifies the house as I said earlier and gives a decorative interior finish.
It can last for twenty years if it's properly made with very high quality. It can also last beyond twenty years in normal conditions.
People normally use it to make a pillar in the room or TV set, some even use it to decorate where they fix their electricity bulbs. There are many more ways people use it, I can't mention all. When damage, you can remove the damaged area and replace it with a machine design from a local number yard or a place like Lowe's or a home depot.
As for me, POP material is trusted and tested but you could spend as much as 50,000 NGN i.e. 680.80 USD just to get a room covered. And most contractors charge between #3,000-5,000 NGN i.e. 7.8-13 USD per square meter and it also depends on the size of the room.
The price of POP ceiling depends on the contractor you are working with because factors like transportation cost, season, and location of the site can influence the cost. So you should consider all these when planning to make a POP ceiling.
Merits of POP Ceiling
It's not likely to cause cracking on surfaces.
It's easy to spread and level and easily mixes up with water.
It gives a decorative interior finish.
Demerits
Cement cannot be mixed with POP.
It's more expensive than all other ceilings and cement lime plaster.
The Labour cost for applying is expensive.
Where to Get POP
The contractor we called bought the POP for us and I don't where he acquired it. But when I researched I found some sources you can get it, you can also do a research to find reliable companies for it.
