Lala Lajpat Rai was one of the most important members of the Indian National Congress. Lajpat Rai was the leader of the Garam Dal of the Indian National Congress. His name is paramount in the list of Freedom fighters of India.During that time Lal Bal and Pal i.e. Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Vipin Chandra Pal were very famous. They are also known as Punjab Keshari. He also established Lakshmi Insurance Company and Punjab National Bank.
He opposed the Simon Commission in India. He was leading this procession during this protest. During this, the British did a tremendous lathi charge. He was badly injured and martyred in that lathi charge. Due to his death, anger against the British spread across the country. Bhagat Singh and his comrades avenged his murder by killing a British officer in Lahore.Lala Lajpat Rai was a freedom fighter as well as a good writer. This leader also founded Punjab National Bank and Lakshmi Insurance Company.Lala Lajpat Rai established such a trust, through which patients coming to the hospital and T.B. Women suffering from tuberculosis (tuberculosis) are assisted. He got this hospital built in the memory of his mother, who died in T.B. (tuberculosis) was affected. On 17 July 1934, he established the hospital and he named that hospital Gulab Devi Chest Hospital.
