He was born in Peshawar (now Pakistan) in 1890 AD. The Government of India honored him with the Bharat Ratna. He died on 20 January 1988 and was buried in Afghanistan as per his wish.Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan started the Khudai Khidmatgar (Servant of God) movement in the year 1929. In the language of the common people, he was head-strong. Khudai Khidmatgar was inspired by Gandhi's non-violent movement. With the success of this movement, the British rulers were stunned and they brutally oppressed Bacha Khan and his supporters. This frontier Gandhi made non-violence a weapon to take on the British and kept the British in the nose. He made the British chew the gram.
