India's great freedom fighter Ram Manohar Lohia was one of the founding members of the "Congress Socialist Party". Ram Manohar Lohia was a great freedom fighter of the freedom movement. He actively participated in the Quit India Movement.When Gandhi was arrested during the Quit India Movement in 1942. Then Ram Manohar Lohia conducted this movement in secret. In the year 1944, Lohia ji was arrested and imprisoned in a jail in Lahore.Unhappy with the partition of the country in 1947, he parted ways with the Congress. Ram Manohar Lohia has expressed his views openly in his book "Guilty Man and India's Partition". Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia has made an important contribution to Indian politics. Lohia, who was a part of the independence movement for many decades, joined the Indian independence movement from a young age. Lohia was a founding member of the Congress Socialist Party formed in 1934. Leaders of the 'Congress Socialist Party' included freedom fighters like Jai Prakash Narayan, Acharya Narendradev and Yusuf Mehrali along with Lohia. Socialists played an important role in the Quit India Movement of 1942. Lohia was underground at that time and ran a radio called Congress Socialist. In 1944, Lohia was arrested and the British imprisoned him in Lahore jail. After nearly two years in jail, Lohia was released in 1946. In Lahore jail, the British tortured Lohia fiercely, due to which his health also started deteriorating. Lohia after being released from jail went to a friend's house in Goa to recover. In those days, Goa was under Portuguese rule. When Lohia came to know that the Portuguese had banned any kind of public meeting in Goa, in June 1946, Lohia challenged the Portuguese ban by holding a public meeting and became the leader of the Goa Movement.

Lohia was a staunch opponent of the partition of India. After the Partition of India and the death of Mahatma Gandhi, Lohia saw a lot of change in the Congress party, as a result, he broke away from it and formed his 'Socialist Party' in 1948. Lohia was the first politician of independent India who played the role of a strong opposition. Twenty years after India's independence and partition, Lohia continued to strengthen and lead the socialist movement. In 1963, Lohia reached Parliament for the first time after winning the election from Farrukhabad. But Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, the great thinker of Indian politics, died in October 1967 and he was able to remain a member of Parliament for only three years. But even in such a short time, he started many such debates in the Parliament, which are very important even today.
