Kabuki-za is a theater that screens KABUKI, a traditional Japanese theater. Kabuki is a Japanese folk drama that was developed and completed in the Edo period (1603-1867), and is characterized by being performed only by male actors.

The theater was built in 1889, but was rebuilt several times, and in 2013 it was partially rebuilt into a skyscraper.
Kabuki-za is in Ginza. When I passed by, it seemed to be before the performance of "Early Spring Great Kabuki". There were a lot of customers there.
People would have enjoyed entertainment in this way since the Edo period.
