The concept of surrounding the (Other) within the cultural theory refers to the perception of the individuals and at some point the groups as fundamentally different from oneself, which leads to marginalization and through the exclusion, is is rooted within the postcolonial theory where the critical theory, which is associated with the Other typically has to do with representing those who are outside the dominant cultural and in some case in the social norms like in the racial minorities, women, and non-Western societies.
