Let me now tell you what I've been pushing for in the witness chat: a massive add campaign to be dumped all over hive and steemit!
I'm fed up with the ballessness and lack of competitiveness on the real playing field. That is why I also I got fed up with blurters attacking blurters as the main focus. The main focus needs to be grabbing market share from our competition, and sad to say, I am the ONLY one talking this way among the witnesses.
So thank you again for supporting me, as I was starting to consider abandoning ship as there seems to be almost nobody on board with any real business mindset.
During my time away from here I created a 100k per year business, now running on auto pilot as just another income stream. But why listen to me? hahaha
Seriously, you need business people to run this thing. Any other way it's just a techy's hobby. Kinda how it started I think....
Also, a side effect of a successful add campaign will be new long term investors and new witnesses of like mind, and I know that will make you happy.
Also, note that I'm very active in the witness chat when appropriate and that's about all I have time for, and the occasional comment on the blockchain, and up-votes.
Posting regularly was always a hobby, that I just don't have time for now.
I agree that steem and hive users are the easiest targets for us. I just don't know how you want to do it. They kill with downvotes every comment you make. Spam won't work. The only reasonable solution I can think of is to write a memo bot. This bot could send 0.01 HIVE to every person who received a downvote or sent HIVE to the exchange, etc.... Along with the transfer it would be possible to send out a message and an invitation to Blurt.
I think @nalexadre could easily modify his upvote bot to do this job
It can be done, no bots, real people putting time and effort into marketing, genuine commenting, posting, dropping links all over these sites and more. Yes there will be problems, but better than doing a big fat nothing.
We have the minnows to motivate through payment in blurt, but to rally the troops and keep that organized and going. I have more guaranteed things to work on, however my consultation from a strong business stand point is really all I can offer at this time.
Sad to say, nobody on the witness list seems to have the time, motivation, or willingness to stir the pot in any competitive way.....my excuse is time, but at least I'm pushing for it.
Yes, this can be done by a bot using the memo of a transfer operation when a post receives a downvote or the account sends funds to an exchange, with a cost of 0.001 STEEM/HIVE per transfer. It's a slightly more complex bot than the upvote one because it needs to prevent multiple transfers to the same account, but it's still achievable and accessible. However, I have no idea about the impact of such a campaign and its conversion rate.
Are there many downvotes on STEEM? I admit it's been a while since I've been there as it doesn't seem like much is happening in terms of development.
