আজকে বিকাল ৪ টার পরে আমরা ঘুরতে যাই। সাথে আছে ইউসুফ ভাই। ঘুরতে ঘুরতে আমরা চরগ্রিস ইউনিয়নের মাঝে প্রবেশ করলাম। সেখানে গাজী চাচার সাথে দেখা হল ধানের জমিতে। দেখলাম গাজী চাচার মনটা বেশ বিষণ্ণতার মধ্যে। কারণ জমিতে ধানের শীষ চিটা হয়ে যাচ্ছে। ধানের ফসল বেশি একটা ভালো হচ্ছে না।

আপনারা দেখতে পাচ্ছেন হাতের রয়েছে সেই ধানের শীষ। শুধু ধানের শীষ যেটা হয়েছে এতেই ক্ষান্ত নয় ইঁদুরের উপক্রম রয়েছে ধানের জমিতে। তাইতো ইদুর কে তাড়ানোর জন্য পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হচ্ছে সেই ধানের মাধ্যমেই। অর্থাৎ ধানের চিটার শীষ গুলোর সাথে ঔষধযুক্ত করে ইঁদুরের গর্তের মুখে রাখা হয়। এতে করে ইঁদুর সেই ঔষধযুক্ত ধান খেয়ে তাদের শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন।

পড়ন্ত বিকেলে গাড়ি চাপায় এমন অম্লিন চেহারা দেখে আমরা খুবই দুঃখ প্রকাশ করলাম। আবার কিছু জায়গায় ধান এখন পর্যন্ত গজায়নি। বর্তমান সমস্ত জমিতে প্রায় বিঘা প্রতি ধান হয় প্রায় 40 মনের কাছাকাছি। সে এখন চিন্তিত তার ধান পর্যাপ্ত পাওয়া যাবে না। তার এই জমিতে অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রম করেছে এবং এখন করতেছেন এবং আগামীতেও করে যাবেন। কৃষক তার ফসল পালনের মাধ্যমে স্বপ্ন দেখে। তার এই ধানের অবস্থার একমাত্র কারণ হিসেবে ইউসুফ ভাই এবং গাজী চাচাও দুজনেই পরামর্শ করলেন যে ধানে বিষ দেওয়া কম হয়েছিল অর্থাৎ কীটনাশক ব্যবহার করা হয়েছিল স্বল্পতা।

আজকের এই ভ্রমণটি ছিল খুবই ভালো এবং দেখা হয়েছে কৃষকের অবস্থা দেখা হয়েছে ধানের পরিস্থিতি। পড়ন্ত বিকেলে যখন গ্রামের মেঠো পথ ধরে হাঁটতে থাকি তখন আসলেই মনটা ভালো হয়ে যায়। সূর্য তখন অষ্ট যায় পশ্চিম দিকে। গাছের সেই ফাঁকে ফাঁকে সূর্যের আলো যেন শরীরে পড়ে। থাকে না তখন সূর্যের তেমন গর্জন সেই মৃদু মৃদু সূর্যের আলোতে হাঁটতে থাকি সেই কৃষকদের জমিতে।
