That is the reason for razing the civilian population's homes to the ground, not mentioning the war crimes that Russian soldiers that done to many people in Ukraine. If this war would only be government against government, at least the civilian places will be spared as well as the critical infrastructures that the people use like water supply and electricity. But right now Mr. Putin is killing everything that moves in Ukraine. That is why Ukraine is fighting back with utmost valor because they know that if they would lose the war, they will face a brutal consequence with even their culture and history will get erased by Putin.
